Borne from an obscure reference in an old 1979 Star Wars comic strip, these dark agents of the Empire, also known as Blackhole Troopers, have taken on a quasi-cult following among collectors in recent years. The cool, sinister reverse color scheme might have something to do with this, but its limited availability as an exclusive has also made it an elusive prize -- Gentle Giant's recent Shadow Stormtrooper Mini-Bust was an instant sell-out, while StarWarsShop's exclusive Bust-Up and Hasbro action figure were also quickly snatched up by collectors.StarWarsShop continues the tradition of the Shadow Stormtrooper exclusive by offering the first large-scale full-figured version of the evasive stealth soldier from Japan's Medicom company.
